Redefining Portraiture

I recently had my photo, "Spare Change" accepted into an exhibition at a small gallery on the upper west side of Manhattan. They are also publishing a book from the show.

REDEFINING PORTRAITURE
NATIONAL JURIED EXHIBITION
May 8 – June 5, 2008

Opening: Thursday, May 8, 6-9pm

Square Inch Gallery
Juror, Liz Afif Gallery Director
215 W. 101st St. #3J
NY, NY 10025

The portrait can be a direct representation of a person’s physical appearance or it can be indirect for example it can be a narrative record of a cross-section of someone’s life, or an abstract image representing the subject’s essence. For this exhibition we wish to show the variety of kinds of portraiture and to reinforce the importance of portraits as fine art.

Hello fellow artist,
I recently visited a blog called art-blogging where I noticed you Blog was either listed or you had requested to be listed.
I also requested to be listed on this site however the site has not been updated for 8 months.
So I've decided to start my own Online Artist List Directory.
I would love to see a link to your site included on the list.
If you are interested, please go to http://alexsartlist.blogspot.com and leave your link in a comment.
Of course there is no fee or any obligation.
I will be updating the site daily.

Kindest regards
ALex Harvey

Hi Michael,

Hope you remember me. You visited my blog a while back. I love this portrait. It's absolutely wild and such an impactful statement.

Anyway, just wanted to say Hi.
