Me and My Crows

I'm a bird watcher and have always been fascinated with crows. Although considered a pest, crows are highly intelligent and were associated with Gods and myths of various cultures. I've been feeding them over the winter and watching how they interact with each other. I wanted to do a self-portrait and decided to include a few of my crow friends. A murder of crows

A little while back, I set up a bird feeder on a post in my backyard. I thought it was high enough to keep the squirrels away, but that didn't happen. Also, the local murder of crows (about 30) showed up on a regular basis, so I feed them larger table scraps and put out bread crumbs on the ground for the smaller birds. Crows have appeared in my paintings and sculptures before and I'll probably use this opportunity to paint them again.
